Rosh Hashanah is a time for family, reflection, new beginnings and, of course, gathering around the table. From dipping apples in honey to sharing a festive meal with family and friends, the traditions of the Jewish New Year make Rosh Hashanah one of the most meaningful celebrations of the year.
At Laser Ninja, we love finding ways to bring contemporary design into these traditions while preserving what makes them special.
Setting the Rosh Hashanah Table
The Rosh Hashanah table is filled with symbolism. Apples and honey are perhaps the most recognizable tradition, representing our wish for a sweet new year.
Pomegranates, round challah, dates and other symbolic foods may also find their way onto the table depending on family and community traditions.
Beyond the food itself, a beautifully prepared table creates a welcoming place for family and guests to celebrate together. Modern Judaica can complement these traditions while becoming part of the family’s celebrations year after year.
A Modern Take on Apples & Honey
For Rosh Hashanah 2026, Laser Ninja introduced our Personalized Rosh Hashanah Honey Plates, combining the traditional apples-and-honey custom with modern Judaica design.
Crafted from beautiful gold mirror acrylic, the collection features three unique designs. Each plate includes a clear honey dish and a coordinating acrylic spoon.
The plates can also be personalized with a family name or special wishes, creating something made specifically for your Rosh Hashanah table.
Whether you’re preparing your own home for the holiday or looking for a meaningful Rosh Hashanah gift, personalization turns a holiday piece into something that can become part of a family’s traditions.
Meaningful Rosh Hashanah Gift Ideas
Finding a Jewish holiday gift doesn’t have to mean choosing something that will be used once and put away.
Some of our favourite Rosh Hashanah gift ideas are pieces that can continue to be enjoyed throughout the year:
· Personalized Rosh Hashanah plates for apples and honey
· Modern mezuzah cases for a new home or doorway
· Personalized challah boards for Shabbat and holidays
· Shabbat candle trays customized for a family
· Home blessings and modern Judaica décor
For hosts, parents, grandparents, newlyweds or a family celebrating in a new home, personalized Judaica can make an especially meaningful gift.
Modern Mezuzahs for a New Year
Rosh Hashanah is also a natural time to think about our homes and new beginnings.
Our Genesis Mezuzah Collection offers a contemporary interpretation of one of the most recognizable pieces of Judaica. The collection includes Classic and Small Mezuzahs, Map of Israel designs, Map of Israel with Star of David designs, Kids Mezuzahs and personalized options in a wide selection of colors and finishes.
Each piece is designed to bring Jewish tradition into the modern home while allowing families to choose a style that feels like their own.
